ICD tabs or bubbles for the ICD-9-CM manaule

I would like to know the best way to tab (appendix, tabular, guidelines) in the ICD-9-CM manual. Is there any highlighting or bubbles? It seems I get bogged down trying to look up the correct codes when I have to code from the ICD-9 In other words what is the quickest way to use this manual.

I do a little bubble and highlighting but actually since the ICD-9 manual has many publishers you get them color coated already. I tab between the index and tabular. Another good place to tab is the index for the E codes. Then the last thing I would tab is the HTN table. The neoplasm table is so large it is easy to find.

At the 250.00 section I do label in the margins what body parts the manifestations are in. Ex: Ophthalmic I write EYE out in the margin.
